H1N1:

So today in the staff room everyone was talking about how H1N1 is running CRAZY! and how women age 15 to 30 get hit by it most, and how we need to get the vaccine in order to not catch it. Mostly because a TV show "The Doctors" tells us to.

Now, I question being directed by a TV show, I also question being directed by the government, but I do not question being directed by intelligence and information.

I expressed that I don't trust these sources, and would rather trust my brother, who might be a dentist, but I trust him more. Well, shame shame shame. All I brought on me was shame.

So I'm looking for information on this.

Accurate and good information.

Should I get the H1N1 vaccine? Yeh or neh? Why? Use good information and direct me to it. Don't quote information from more than 5 years ago. Don't quote unreliable sources.

and what I should learn by the end of this year...

So, this is what I will start learning soon...
This is three tunes strung together. The last is called MacArthur's Road, and I told my teacher I wanted to learn that. When the girl plays it, if you notice, her hand on the strings goes towards the fiddle. We are learning a scale to do this right now...
I can not wait to play this song. It make me happy. :)

Good god, it's good to see you...

So life is fine. I love weekends and I love when the weather makes it bareable to sit outside and drink a good beer (or few).

My mom sent me this in email today and so I tried it:

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (micro Safe)
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
Then EAT!

(This can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

It's good, it needs a few tweeks. I need to cook it less and somehow find a way to make the chocolate chips dispurse throughout, rather than just stay in the bottom. I just love the fact that I can make chocolate cake in the microwave in mug.

I've taken to reading the author Douglas Coupland. I started reading "All families are Psychotic" at Trevor's last weekend. Today I just took out "The Gum Theif". I enjoy how he analyzes the regular and makes it seem so interesting...

I would say more about work, but I'd rather not. I've decided that this is the place of my own interests and my professional ones can stay at school. I am enjoying teaching, but am looking forwards to two months off.

Life is good. I've been sitting on the deck all day, drinking beer, and reading. I've also been bike riding. I like the spring/summer.

Hummmmmmm...

So things have been going not so well in my books lately, but they will pick up...

well,  basically one thing has sucked majorly. My car got sick Thursday during work. I took it into the shop and we thought it was only a shredded fan belt, but it turned out to be the pully that kept the fan belt tight. So that is shot. They couldn't get a part until Monday, so I stayed in Regina for the weekend. I was really looking forward to going home to Estevan and doing nothing but studying, watching TV, and having some cuddle/sex time with Byron. But, that was not in the cards. That made me almost loose it on Thursday. I seriously sat on sherry's couch after work and screamed. I was mostly frustrated with my car. It is a piece. I have already replaced the engiene. You think that would be it, but noooo... I really wish my dad would have just decided to part it out and we could have put that money on a down payment on a new car with warrenty. Anyways...

I didn't mind this weekend. It was alright. But, honestly, I really liked last weekend much better. Last weekend was close friends. This weekend Started out with close friends, but tonight I went to a few parties and felt a little bit out of place and uncomfortable. At Russell's I felt self-concious. I think I was grating on a couple of people's nerves... The house is also fairly small and it was hot and uncomfortable to begin with. I then went to a bigger party and there were a lot of hipsters there. They kind of irked me.... well, mostly the skinny dancing girls with hairy arm pits and make-up on irked me, but I think it was a general irk. I think it is also because I don't know a lot of those people and feel intimidated. In any case, I felt irked by the end of tonight... I just wanted a weekend in Estevan with no skinny girls with hairy arm pits and make-up. But, so is life. I also went to Michelley and Darren's birthday at the beginning of the night. That was awesome. I felt welcomed, at home, accepted, and wanted, and I was having a lovely time. I really liked a lot of the people there. They were nice and real...

Last night was a bit better. We went to "Library Voices," aka filmaker - one band mate and + a bunch of regina hipsters. But, Carl Johnson knows how to write a song. and sing a song. So it was pretty good and interesting to see times change from emo music to hipster music. It all had the same undertones brought in by Carl, mostly a catchy refrain that smells of pop a bit... After that we went to Gabbo's which seemed good in hind-sight, but that's not always 20/20.

My favorite part of this weekend so far was biking.

But, I think something is wrong with my older bike. I just got a tune up and a back tire replaced for $80 and it still seems to not ride smoothly. It makes noise and is hard to ride. I think it may have something to do with the fact that the frame broke and my dad welded it back together... But, still, spending $80 and not having it work out sucks. I think I might have to retire the bike after this summer. Good thing I have another at home in Estevan.

I really miss Estevan. A lot. It makes me sad. I mostly miss it because Byron is in it. I guess I just miss Byron. Oh well.

shanananana...

This weekend was busy.

Friday I spent over at Allan D's. It was wonderful. Saturday I went to the farmers market, then to the beach. I am burnt! and itchy. I went to Leslie's afterwards to watch a movie. Sunday I went berry picking. I am tired.

Today was difficult at work, mostly because I am tired from such a long weekend. I hope to go for sushi for supper.

I am not in a good mood today. I think because I am tired. Also, yesterday all day I tried to phone Byron. His phone was dead. I couldn't get a hold of him anywhere and started thinking bad things. Turns out I forgot that he went to the races in Minot in the states. I miss him...

I am also going home next weekend. I need to sit and relax. :)
